The Problem

Neurological conditions are diagnosed too late.

Parkinson's disease begins degenerating the Locus Coeruleus — the brain's primary norepinephrine source — 5 to 7 years before motor symptoms appear. By the time of clinical diagnosis, significant neurological damage has already occurred. Early detection requires a window into LC–NE system dynamics. The pupil is that window.

The Approach

Non-invasive. Mobile. Scalable.

irispectra is developing a smartphone-based pupillometry protocol that measures LC–NE system activity through pupillary dynamics. A 5-minute session. No clinical hardware. No specialist required. The same parameters measured in research-grade laboratory settings — delivered through a standard smartphone camera and a custom 940nm IR module.
